Gallatin County Justice Court of Record requires anyone under the age of 18 who receives a citation to be seen in Open Court with a parent or legal guardian by the appearance date listed on the citation.

The Juvenile Defendant may waive their mandatory appearance in Open Court by the date listed on the citation in one of the following ways:

Using a Juvenile Motion
1.     Ask for an extension of time to appear;
2.    Ask to be seen by video (parent or legal guardian must also appear);
3.    Ask to pay the bond and then forfeit the bond in lieu of appearance. (With this option, an
       Affidavit of Parental/Legal Guardian Consent Form must accompany this particular motion.)

All motions must be submitted with original signature either in person at the court’s window or by mail. Electronic filings (email/fax) will not be accepted.
