DUI Task Force Coordinator

Gallatin County

This position is located in the office of Court Services in the Judge Guenther Memorial Center and is supervised by the Director of Court Services.  The DUI Task Force Coordinator is selected by the Director of Court Services in conjunction with a special committee comprised of DUI Task Force members and a County Commissioner under the general direction of the Board Chair.  The DUI Task Force Coordinator performs a variety of administrative, technical and clerical duties toward the development and implementation of programs that support the Task Force’s education and prevention efforts as well as the enforcement of DUI laws.

Minimum Qualifications

This work requires knowledge of the laws, rules, regulations, principles and practices of DUI enforcement; community intervention; community resources in the area of alcohol and substance abuse; Robert’s Rules of Order; educational techniques; bookkeeping; knowledge of marketing skills and graphic design and work independently; plan, organize and conduct educational and liaison programs and services; type accurately; maintain accurate records; reports and summaries; communicate effectively both in writing and verbally and establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Education and Experience

The required knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor Degree in social services, marketing or public administration plus three (3) years work experience involving education and training, as well as creating productive partnerships with other community agencies and the general public.

Licenses and Certifications:  Position must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the state of Montana or attain a Montana driver’s license within six months of hire and be insurable under the County’s liability policies.  

As a condition of hire, the final candidate will be required to successfully pass a criminal history check and background investigation.
