Gallatin Rest Home to Allow Scheduled Visitation For Residents

Gallatin Rest Home

The Gallatin Rest Home is officially off quarantine and the county positivity rate has been under 10% for several weeks. This means that effective Thursday, Feb. 18, residents will be able to have scheduled visitation.

Please read the Interim COVID-19 Visitation Policy.  At this time each family member will be able to visit once a month. This will allow every resident an opportunity to see family in person.

Please note that end-of-life visits have different guidelines.

Per policy, (indoor visitation) visits will work as follows:

  • Families call business office to schedule appointment. Business hours are 9 AM to 3 PM.
  • Scheduled visits will be Monday through Friday. If you have special circumstances and cannot make any of the times listed (see attachment) please contact the Rest Home administrator and we will do our best to accommodate.
  • Limit 2 two visitors per resident. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to visit.
  • Screening and testing will be completed. Visitor smust have no symptoms of any illness.
  • Visitors will remain in the testing area until test result is determined and they must be negative.
  • Visitors will be escorted to the scheduled room and must wear masks.
  • Residents will be escorted to scheduled room and must wear masks.
  • Visits are limited to 1 hour. Visitors will be reminded 15 minutes prior to end of their visit.
  • Visitors will be  escorted out of building.
  • Residents will be escorted back to room or nurses station.
  • The room is wiped down and disinfected to be ready for next visit.

If a visitor is interested in having lunch with their family member they will be responsible to bring it as our dining room is still closed to visitors and will not be able to serve you. Please let us know if you plan on doing that so we can notify the kitchen to make sure they don’t prepare a tray for your loved one.  Also so staff know how much they ate as we keep track of that information.

Visiting can and will change based on the following factors:

  • greater than 10% positivity in county
  • testing supplies run out – the priority of testing materials is staff and residents.
  • we go back into quarantine,
  • CMS/CDC changes regulations.

At this time being vaccinated or having your family member vaccinated does not change the current regulations as more data is needed.
