GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT LAW ENFORCEMENT POSITIONS

All applicants must take the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office written exam and fitness test. The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office does not participate in the Consortium; therefore, no written or MPAT scores will be accepted from the Consortium or any other agency offering testing.
 
The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office tests candidates' level of fitness using the Montana Physical Abilities Test (MPAT). 
You must complete the fitness test in 6:30 or better to be considered for employment.
 
All application materials must be submitted to Gallatin County Human Resources Office.  
 
Do not mail or send packets or applications to the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office.
 
If you have applied for a law enforcement position with Gallatin County in the last six months, you may request your previous application be considered for any current law enforcement postings.
