Tuesday, April 10th @ 9:00 AM

The Public will be hearing recommendations from Stahly Engineering and selecting a bridge for a Preliminary Engineering Report and Grant Application to be submitted to the Treasure State Endowment Program (TSEP). Anyone interested in the County’s bridge system is encouraged to attend the meeting, ask questions, and offer their comments. The information gathered during the hearing will be included in the preliminary engineering report (PER) being prepared for the County by Stahly Engineering & Associates of Bozeman.
The PER will provide the County with a document used in a grant application to the Treasure State Endowment Program (TSEP) that is subject to approval for funding by the Montana Legislature and the Governor. The application deadline is June 2018. In 2017, Gallatin County received a TSEP grant for $750,000 to replace the Nixon Gulch Bridge which was is currently out to bid for completion in 2019.
Each TSEP application will be ranked by the Department of Commerce during the fall of 2018 and presented to the Legislature in January 2019 for its consideration. The grant process is extremely competitive. To be successful, applicants must demonstrate that their project will solve urgent and serious health or safety problems, is vital to their economy, is financially feasible, and enjoys strong public support. When Gallatin County residents take an active role in selecting and planning the replacement of vital infrastructure that they rely on for their safety and the safety of their families, friends, and neighbors, the likelihood of success goes up significantly. People that are unable to attend either meeting are encouraged to send their written comments to the Gallatin County Commissioners at email@example.com or 311 West Main, room 306, Bozeman, MT 59715.
