COUNTY COMMISSION PRESS RELEASE
For the Week of October 12th, 2009

County offices will be closed on Monday, October 12th in observance of Columbus Day.  

Property Tax Assessments have been delivered and each taxpayer has 30 days from the date they received the notice to appeal those taxes.  An AB-26 can be filed with the Department of Revenue for an informal review as a preliminary step to or in lieu of a formal appeal.  The AB-26 must be filed within 30 days as well and if this form is filed the taxpayer will have an additional 30 days to file a formal appeal if they are not satisfied with the results of the AB-26 review.  The 30-day deadline will for filing either the AB-26 or the formal appeal will fall this coming week, so plan accordingly if you intend to dispute your taxes as assessed.

On the Public Meeting Agenda for October 13, 2009 (not inclusive of all items on the agenda):  Resolution of Road Name Change – Monforton School Road to Kallestad Lane; First Reading of Speed Ordinances for Vista Meadows Subdivision Phase I and Kunje Road; Resolution Amending the County’s final operating budget for receipt of unanticipated monies and to balance expenditures for FY 2009; Presentation and Discussion of the County’s FY 2010, 2011 and 2012 proposed indirect cost allocation plan; Comment on the donation of the Coker Conservation Easement to the Gallatin Valley Land Trust; Resolution to amend the Gallatin County floodplain regulations to clarify the designation of the Gallatin County Floodplain Administrator and/or Assistant Floodplain Administrator; Settlement Agreement in Maus vs. Gallatin County DV-475A pertaining to County’s Edge Subdivision; Common Boundary Relocation Exemptions from Subdivision Review by Big Blue River and Circle M.
