The Clerk of District Court's Office maintains naturalization records from the late 1800's to the mid 1960's. For any records newer than the mid 1960's, contact the Naturalization and Immigration Office located in Helena, Montana, at 1-800-375-5283 or INS.
Persons may come to the Clerk's office to conduct their own research or they may request the Clerk's office to perform the research. The name of the individual and the time period to search is required along with a search fee of $2.00 per year per name for the first seven years, and then $1.00 per year per name thereafter. If photocopies are requested, there is a fee of $1.00 per page for the first ten pages and then $.50 per page thereafter.
