Created in 2004, this umbrella watershed group's mission is to conserve and restore the greater Gallatin watershed resources through focused action.

The Missoula Valley Water Quality District was created by resolution of the Missoula Board of County Commissioners in January, 1993 and began operations in July, 1993. By creating a WQD, local government can assume more direct control for the protection of drinking water and streams.
