Events Worker
Gallatin County Fairgrounds
This position is located at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds and is responsible for assisting and covering the Fairgrounds Events in both the evenings and weekends. Events include the Big Sky Country State Fair and several other events coordinated by the Fairgrounds.
Duties include coordinating and participating in the set-up, take-down and clean-up of the events; conducting basic maintenance services pertaining to the events, including but not limited to emptying garbages, changing light bulbs, shoveling snow, maintaining the bathrooms, etc.; oversees the Fairgrounds while on duty by maintaining locked buildings; overseeing traffic control and overseeing the facility (reporting major issues, vandalism, water leaks, etc. to the appropriate staff on duty).  
This position may also assist in other minor projects; duties including but not limited to painting, cleaning, etc., when needed during the slow times.  This position reports to the Facilities Operations Foreman through the Maintenance Worker and does not supervise other county personnel.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This work requires general knowledge of the fairground events, services and facilities; basic building and simple equipment maintenance; custodial services and safety standards ensuring an environment free from slips, trips and falls.  This position must have strong public/customer service and relations skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to work evening, nights and weekends; maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work; ability to work alone or with others and must be reliable and responsible.  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The required knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and one to two (1-2) years of related work experience (e.g., basic maintenance, custodial care, customer relations, etc.).  Experience at a similar venue or facility preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:
Position must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the state of Montana or attain a Montana driver’s license within six months of hire and be insurable under the County’s liability policies.  
 
As a condition of hire, the final candidate will be required to successfully pass a criminal history check and background investigation.

$13.99 - $14.73 per hour DOQ plus Benefits
